English–Polish sworn translation in Warsaw

We translate from English into Polish and from Polish into English: birth and marriage certificates, diplomas and diploma supplements, contracts, bank statements, company documents and certificates for use abroad. Our sworn translations are certified by a sworn translator (tłumacz przysięgły) on the Minister of Justice’s list, cost 90 zł per page and are usually ready in 2–4 working days. It’s all done online: upload a photo of the document through the quote form, then collect the finished translation in central Warsaw or from an InPost parcel locker (Paczkomat).

English into Polish and Polish into English

Into Polish. If you have documents from the UK, Ireland, the US or elsewhere that you need to use in Poland, we translate them into Polish. The most common case is the birth certificate of a child born abroad: the registry office (USC) has to transcribe it before the child can get a PESEL number and a Polish passport. We also translate marriage certificates and divorce decrees, diplomas for recognition in Poland, and statements and certificates for Polish banks. A UK or US “certified translation” usually has to be redone here, because Polish offices accept translations by a sworn translator on the Polish list or ones certified by a Polish consul.

Into English. We also translate Polish documents for moving, studying or working abroad: birth certificates, diplomas and diploma supplements, employment certificates (świadectwo pracy), criminal record certificates, and company documents for a foreign business partner. Whether the document needs a sworn translation and an Apostille is up to the institution abroad that receives it, so check with them first. If they ask for an Apostille, we’ll obtain it at the Polish MFA as part of the same order – see Apostille in Warsaw for details.

/ Price and timing

How much is an English sworn translation?

A page of sworn translation costs 90 zł, whether it’s from English into Polish or from Polish into English. A page is 1,125 characters with spaces, counted in the finished translation, and any part-page counts as a full page. Polish text usually runs longer than English, so we give you the exact page count and price once we’ve seen a photo of the document – usually within 15 minutes. With 6 or more pages in one order (sworn and ordinary translations count together), you get 10% off.

For a CV, correspondence or a visa application, an ordinary translation is often enough – 80 zł per page of 1,800 characters – but Polish offices, courts and registry offices won’t accept it. Before you order, ask the recipient which type they need. Both usually take 2–4 working days. A certificate or driving licence (1 page) is usually ready the next working day, and we send the scan the same day. We send you a scan as soon as the translation is ready, and you collect the paper translation with the translator’s seal in central Warsaw or from an InPost parcel locker.

Frequently asked questions English ↔ Polish

How much does a sworn translation from English cost?

90 zł per page of 1,125 characters with spaces in the finished translation – the same from English into Polish and from Polish into English. We give you the page count once we’ve seen a photo of the document, before you order anything. With 6 or more pages in one order, you get 10% off the translation.

Can you translate a Polish birth certificate into English?

Yes. We translate Polish birth, marriage and death certificates into English for use abroad. If the recipient requires an Apostille, we’ll obtain it at the MFA – on the original, on the translation or on both, depending on what they ask for.

Will a Polish sworn translation be accepted in the UK or the US?

It depends on the institution. Some offices and universities abroad accept a Polish sworn translation, often with an Apostille; others accept only translations made in their own country. Ask the recipient before you order – we’ll prepare the version they need.

How long does a sworn translation from English take?

Usually 2–4 working days from payment confirmation. A certificate or driving licence (1 page) is usually ready the next working day, and we send the scan the same day. Next-working-day express is available by arrangement. If you also need an Apostille, allow an extra 1–3 working days for the MFA. If the recipient accepts an electronic version, we can arrange a PDF signed with the translator’s qualified electronic signature on request, but an electronic translation can’t be apostilled.

How do I pay for and receive the translation if I’m not in Warsaw?

Upload a photo of the document through the quote form and you’ll get a free quote by e-mail, usually within 15 minutes. If the price suits you, you pay in advance by BLIK or bank transfer, and the translator starts work. We send you a scan as soon as the translation is ready, and the paper translation with the translator’s seal goes to an InPost parcel locker anywhere in Poland – shipping is included on orders from 350 zł, otherwise it costs 30 zł. You don’t need to send us the document itself. Only if the office requires a translation from the original, or the document needs an Apostille, do you send it to us – and it comes back to you with the translation.
